The Black Pearl Foundation (TBPF) offers quality services and an advanced life skills that is implemented differently for children of the different age group. It prepares them for their future academics in middle school, high school and eventually college education through inciting a behavioral change in them that develops permanently in their personality.
The mentorship program exists to provide services that are aimed at enhancing traditional methodologies and integration of extra-curricular interests into one comprehensive program. Our focus is to create a strong, educational foundation to help build social skills and self-confidence. The organization welcomes children from any community into its nurturing environment.
The youth-centered and developmentally appropriate program promotes hands-on, active learning for early youth of 10-18 years of age. Youth learn best with purposeful participation-based lesson plans that foster learning through exploration and encourage independence.
We will focus on each youth’s ability to develop positive self-esteem, social competency, essential skills in literacy and math, and a love of learning. In addition to encouraging independence, there are several strategies in place to strengthen social skills.
Social interactions begin very early, and friendships develop quickly which leads to the ability to express the youth’s needs and to listen to the ideas of their peers. It also encourages them to practice manners with one another, learning to share and take turns, negotiate, and compromise and express their feelings in a positive manner.
